Laiton et bronze, valorisés sur leur composition réelle

Chaque grade de laiton se définit par son rapport cuivre-zinc, souvent avec de précieux ajouts d'étain et de plomb. Le laiton jaune avoisine 65 % de cuivre ; le laiton rouge monte à 85 % avec de l'étain et du plomb. Nous valorisons chaque expédition sur sa composition réelle — et lorsqu'un bronze n'a pas de code ISRI publié, nous le négocions sur analyse, afin que les deux parties captent toute la valeur de l'alliage.

Laiton, en clair

Achetez-vous le bronze au plomb et le bronze en plus du laiton ?

Oui. Le laiton rouge et les massifs de composition de la famille 85-5-5-5 se négocient en Ebony, et le bronze au manganèse — hélices, accastillage et grosses pièces de fonderie — en Parch. Les deux sont valorisés sur leur teneur en cuivre et sont donc tenus à l'écart du laiton jaune.

Faut-il séparer le laiton rouge du laiton jaune avant la vente ?

Cela en vaut la peine. Le laiton jaune titre environ 65 % de cuivre, le rouge environ 85 %, et un lot mélangé est payé au chiffre le plus bas. Séparer les pièces de fonderie, les chutes de barre et les découpes couvre généralement la manutention.

Achetez-vous les tournures de laiton ?

Oui, à condition qu'elles soient exemptes de fer, d'excès d'huile et d'humidité. Les tournures sont classées sur ce qu'elles contiennent réellement : un alliage déclaré et une photographie sont utiles.
